Discouragement

is like pushing a car around without using the engine. It's tough work and you don't get anywhere.

People don't realize that dis-COURAGE-ment robs them of the power of life's engine. It's our place to en-COURAGE them by letting them remember how to start their engines.

Psalm 25 has done that for me ... Oh...about a thousand times. In a phrase, it's "but God..." It's putting God back in the middle of the picture, It's pushing life around with the engine of COURAGE on. It's acting like God knows what he is doing. (He does!)

When I hear someone pushing their life around in their own power, I want to get them to the "but God" place. I want them to start their engines. They will really thank you for it.
